MESA STREET GRILL
EL PASO TIMES' 2016 BEST OF THE BORDER WINNER!
Mesa Street Grill has received the El Paso Times’ annual Best of the Border Award for 2016 “Best Steak House.”
The awards are selected annually through both online and print ballots. Voters must specifically designate who they think is best; it is not a multiple choice ballot. Thank you, El Paso residents for taking the time to send your votes and for your unwavering support all these years!
THREE TIME WINNER OF THE DIRONA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) is the restaurant industry’s leading authority on fine dining. Their Award for Excellence is a highly coveted designation. In 2014, Mesa Street Grill received the honor of having won this award for a record five consecutive years. No other restaurant in El Paso can boast such and achievement.
Keith Kehlbeck, DiRoNA’s Executive Manager says, “DiRoNA has a history of recognizing culinary excellence. We are proud to have Mesa Street Grill as part of our winners circle and even more excited that they have achieved the rare accomplishment of three consecutive wins.”
General Manager, Aaron Means says, “To win the award once is an achievement. To win it three years in a row is something that puts in a league with the elite restaurants in America. It’s an honor that humbles us and at the same time puts the burden on us to maintain the highest standards of excellence.”
“Our win was based on restaurants in the southwest. We were one of only two winners in both of our categories. We have set the standard in El Paso for fine dining and for the quality of our spirits selection. These awards show us that we are able to compete with the finest restaurants in the southwest. That’s a great feeling.”
MESA WINS WINE SPECTATOR AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE A RECORD 13 TIMES IN A ROW
Fine dining leader, Mesa Street Grill has just received formal notice that they are the recipients of Wine Spectator’s Award for Excellence. To receive the award even one time would be an honor for any restaurant. Mesa Street Grill owner, Mr. Bill Means, says, “We are very excited and honored to have won the Excellence Award again this year. We put a great deal of care into our wine collection. This award shows that care is being recognized (again) by one of the country’s leading authorities in wine.”
Winners of the Wine Spectator Award are chosen from a candidate pool of over 3,700 fine dining restaurants from around the world. Key judging criteria for the award include the breadth of wine selection, quality of the collection and thematic menu tie-ins to both price and style.
Mesa Street Grill has prided itself on its wine selection, which has been built very selectively over the years. General Manager, Aaron Means says, “The wines that make up our collection are selected with a great deal of care and thought. We also consult regularly with the area’s top wine authorities.” Means closes saying, “We will maintain our high standards and commitment to providing our customers with the best in the city.”
